Founded in 2011, The British College offers world-class education for aspiring students in Nepal to gain internationally-recognised qualifications from their two partner British Universities: the University of the West of England (UWE) and Leeds Beckett University (LBU). We have successfully established a distinctive identity as the pioneering global college in Nepal and offer reputed UK degrees and courses that are relevant to the current job market, and enhance the employability of each and every student.

Established in 2011, The British College (TBC) delivers top-tier education to ambitious students in Nepal, allowing them to achieve internationally-recognized qualifications through partnerships with two distinguished British Universities: the University of the West of England (UWE) and Leeds Beckett University (LBU). They have effectively forged a unique identity as a pioneering global institution in Nepal, providing well-regarded UK degrees and courses that align with the present job market, enhancing the employability of each student. TBC's goal is to furnish students with a comprehensive global learning experience and access to international prospects. Their approach stands out through the local-to-global strategy in delivering degrees and courses, which are overseen by educators and administrative professionals from both the UK and Nepal. This approach ensures a premium education that cultivates a global perspective among students and staff—a concept further promoted by multinational corporations participating in our student exchange initiatives and internships. Moreover, the college strongly believes in the significance of engaging with and supporting the local community, an integral aspect of the educational experience they provide.

To transform lives by making high-quality British education affordable and accessible for students from all regions of Nepal;To further develop the current portfolio of qualifications with new partners and qualifications – ensuring wrap-around student support and employability skill development opportunities;To work closely with industry partners, particularly in Kathmandu, to develop employability links and offer internships;To use the Industry Advisory Board contacts to broaden the reach of TBC and enhance the student experience;To encourage student mobility by providing study trips to our sister colleges: The Woolwich College (London & Dubai);To develop research opportunities, particularly in partnership with education and industry partners.
Partner Universities
UWE Bristol
UWE Bristol is one of the popular universities in Britain, with almost 30,000 students from over 140 countries worldwide. To accommodate this wealth of national and international students, UWE boasts over 3000 staff members, who work together to facilitate a total of 600 courses. As well a range of short courses, UWE offers both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees - two of which the college is proud to offer at TBC. The BBA (Hons) and the MSc in International Business Management (MIBM) are both awarded by the University of the West of England, and by joining one of them its students could have the opportunity to be a part of the 96% of UWE Bristol graduates who are in work or further studies six months after graduating.
Leeds Beckett University
With a history dating back to 1824, Leeds Beckett is a world-class university that was featured in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019. The University works with a host of businesses to ensure their research and courses are contemporary, rich, and relevant, and meet the career ambitions of their students. Their reputation for excellence is reflected in their 23,000 strong student body, which is made up of students from 143 countries worldwide. LBU offers the opportunity to select institutions around the globe to teach their courses, and the college is very proud to be one of them. TBC thus offers the BSc (Hons) Computing, BSc (Hons) Hospitality Business Management, MBA (Graduate), MBA (Executive), and MSc Information Technology which are all awarded by Leeds Beckett University (LBU).

Chairman
Mr Rajen Kandel is a British-Nepali businessman and entrepreneur. He is the Director of the Kandel Group UK and its subsidiaries. He has been Chairing the Britain Nepal Chamber of Commerce (BNCC) since 2015 and he is an advisor for the Non-Resident Nepalese Association UK. Mr Kandel has been incredibly successful in International Business yet his passion lies in education. Mr Kandel went to the UK in 1999 for his higher education. Following his success in the UK, he desired to give something back to the country where he was born. Therefore, he founded The British College in 2011. Today the college is one of the leading international colleges in Nepal with over 1000 students gaining UK degrees and invaluable international business experience. It is because of his hard-work, dedication and diligence that this institution exists.
